I was assigned to make a die-cut poster representing the era around 1500 to 1899. With permission, I was able to make the focus on Leonardo da Vinci.

A few things needed to be incorporated in the poster: an advancement in communication and in technology, along with a saying or quote from the period. For communication, I did some research and found out that da Vinci developed a printing press that could be operated by only one man. For technology, there were many things, but I mainly used his flying machine and gear studies. As for the quote, I used one of his own: "Why does the eye see a thing more clearly in dreams than the imagination when awake?" This has since become one of my favourite quotes.
