Makoto sat up sleepily from under her down covers. She blinked painfully at the streaming golden light pouring from her window. She gracefully placed one foot on her deep plush carpet and thought about her day ahead. After freshening herself up in the bathroom, she walked into the kitchen to make breakfast.

Makoto had barley taken out the eggs and bacon when the doorbell rang. "One moment!," she called out while dropping her cooking materials. Upon opening the door, two blurs of blond hair rushed in. Makoto just stood there and wondered how they could be so fast after so many years. Without even turning around, Makoto greeted them. "Ohayo Usako-chan, Mina-Chan. Come for breakfast again?" Makoto knew asking this question was of no use, but she asked anyway. Usagi laid a hand on Makoto's shoulder," I have no duties today (yes!), Mamo-kun is taking care of that. Demo, I know your restaurant is closed on Sundays so I decided to pop up for some food. And I met Mina-Chan on the way here. Naturally she wanted some food too!" Usagi was such a bubbly person, and yet so was Minako. If you didn't know them, you could mistake them for twins.

"Yeah Makoto-Chan, you know we come over here all the time. You might as well give us a spare house key so we can eat your leftovers." Makoto looked at her like she was crazy. "Yeah, and me go bankrupt. I don't think so." Giggles passed around the room before Makoto stood up. "Well, I got to go back to the kitchen . You guys and Shino-Chan need food, and make yourself at home," Makoto added only to see them sprawled out all over her couch and floor. Makoto walked back into the kitchen and resumed cooking.

After working on a delicious breakfast of coffee, eggs, bacon, and French toast, she took it out to the living area. Usagi was the first to reach to food, " Mako-chan," she gushed, " I swear every time I eat your food, it takes a little better." Makoto blushed a little at her statement. "Usako-chan, I'm flattered, but it doesn't taste any different than last Sunday." This was the norm for the 24 year old women almost every week. Then, after breakfast, they would meet the rest of the group at the mall for a shopping get together. Just then a voice like milk-chocolate came from the hallway," It is a proven fact that once you repeatedly do something, you get better at it." Out of the shadows came a handsome man of 25. Messy brown hair and cerulean blue eyes. He was wearing a pair khaki pants with no shirt on showing off his muscular build, a towel around his neck. Usagi and Minako took one look at him and began grinning deviously at Makoto. Makoto looked at them with stern eyes. " Don't make any comments about my love life." Knowing the Makoto was not a force to be reckoned with, they piped down. Shinosaki blushed and ran into the bedroom to put a shirt on. Everyone in the room laughed as they plotted out their activities for the day.

Makoto, Minako, Usagi, Rei, Luna, Artemis, Diana, Haruka, Setsuna, Michiru, Mamoru, and Shinosaki were all walking on the shiny tiled floor of the mall. Usagi was hanging possessively over Mamoru. Ami was looking around for a good bookstore. Makoto was slightly holding onto Shinosaki's hand. Rei was finishing a cell phone conversation wither her fiancée, Chad. Luna and Artemis were each holding a hand of their young daughter, Diana. Minako was looking through a fashion magazine and thinking of ideas for her photo shoot. And lastly, Haruka, Michiru, and Setsuna were lagging slightly behind silently talking quietly about something or another. Probably the new tea shop that opened in Juban district. After about two hours of shopping, talking, reminiscing, eating, and nose bleeds, the group finally began to part.

"Hey guys," piped up Setsuna in that mysterious way of talking, "Michiru, Haruka, and I are going to try out that new tea shop that opened across town. I hear it is very good." After everyone said their good-byes, the threesome left. Minako was the next to go. " Hey guys, got a photo shoot. I got to go. See 'ya later." And with that she jogged away from the group. Suddenly, Diana began to jump up and down anxiously, " Mama, Papa, " she wailed," I wanna go to the candy store!" The entire group looked at Luna and Artemis sympathetically. Diana and candy stores mean overtime at their jobs for Luna and Artemis. She could pack it in like a bulldozer and still had room for more. They all laughed as Diana dragged Luna and Artemis away. They waved their hands good-bye as they were practically thrown into the store by a four year old. Ami parted by them by saying she had to check out the new book, " Interaction between life forms of the universe." Everyone did an anime sweat drop as she hurried away. Rei informed them that she had to go and look at some stuff for her wedding. Everyone's eyes sparkled and they all promised to be over there later to help her plan as she waved good-bye. Usagi and Mamoru were the last to go when Mamoru finally convinced Usagi that she had to get back to work before she was missed. It was just Makoto and Shinosaki walking down the shiny marble floor. Little did they know, they were being watched. As their predators cold lips curved into a sick smile as she fingered the blue jewel in her hair. She mumbled to herself, "Soon, I will have my revenge on you agent number 449..." With that, she slipped back into the shadows laughing quietly.

Makoto brushed her long, brown flowing hair in front of her vanity mirror. Her mahogany hair shined from the light creating a halo effect. Her emerald eyes sparkled with contentment when the doorbell chimed. She gracefully placed the brush down with one cream colored hand and stood up. Shinosaki, though, had already beat her to the door. She heard a faint yelp and came into the room. There was her 12 year old sister Tara, hugging Shinosaki. As soon as she spied her from over his shoulder, she flipped over him and went into a martial arts ready position. Makoto jumped into a ready position as well and faced her little sister. Aft er seizing each other they both let go and ran over to hug each other. Shinosaki just sat and laughed at their antics. Tara spoke first, her brown hair bobbing up and down enthusiastically. " Mako-chan how are you? How's life? Do you still hang out with the same friends? U hear your cooking got better/. How's Tokyo doing? Do you still train or is it a natural thing? Are you still an agent? How's your love life?," Tara jumped around more and more as she spoke. Makoto looked at her trying to recall everything she asked and said.

"Tara, I'm doing fine. Life treats me as well as it could. I do still hang out with Usagi-Chan and the group. Everyone says my cooking is better but my restaurant is doing great. Tokyo's a great place. You should convince Aunty Ying Fa to move back, but she never did like the noise too much. Good thing Ms. Tomoya moved with her to tape everything she did or I would hardly get to see her. I still do train but I hardly get a chance anymore. I am still an agent but I only work on recall no. And last but not least, my love life is of no concern to you, maybe in a few years, though," Makoto added almost as an afterthought. The last comment made Shinosaki blush furiously.

Makoto threw a punch at Tara, which she easily blocked. Tara propelled a punch towards Makoto's mid-section, which she blocked with her knee. Makoto tossed a punch combo at her sister. She blocked all but one which Makoto held away from her face without making contact. " You know I would never hurt you," Makoto lectured, "and I can see Uncle Syaoran is doing a great job training. But you have to know how to keep up the defense while performing the offense." Tara only nodded in response. Suddenly, a dark shadow passed over the window. Makoto was the only one who caught it and whipped around, her green silk robe whirling in the air like a spiraling skirt. She shed it like an extra skin, being left in a long T-shirt and sweatpants. In a flash she opened the window and hopped out onto the ledge. Although the culprit had already escaped, she glanced at the shadow. In her hair rested a one of a kind, key clip, with a sapphire in the center and diamonds all around it. Makoto instantly remembered that clip that had ignited the switch and almost cost her, her life. She muttered one word she hadn't hoped to say for the rest of her life: "Sapphire..."

Makoto and Tara woke up within five minutes of each other. They were both trained under their Uncle Syaoran so they knew each other like clockwork. Makoto woke up at around 4:30 AM that Monday morning. Her first priority was breakfast. Guests were the best things, too, because she got to make extravagant breakfasts. She did her early morning yoga as per usual. Sitting in full lotus position, she rested her hands on her knees, palms upwards, and fingers down. This position helped her gain strength and relax for the day. Back erect, she inhaled deeply, expanding her stomach and chest to their full extent. After holding for about two seconds, she exhaled from her mouth. After repeating the process for a few moments, she laid flat on her stomach going into Cobra Position. Placing her hands on either side of her chest on the floor, she slowly curled her back upwards. Makoto held her position for a minute before pushing her hands down to curl back even farther. After holding that for a moment longer, she slowly lowered herself completely down. Finally, standing, she went into Mountain Position. This consisted of standing perfectly still and erect, as if a metal rod were in your spine, while holding prayer position. She stood still for about a minute before she relaxed her position and walked towards the kitchen.

At about the same time, Tara was doing her own early morning aerobics. After going into Cobra Position and Mountain Position, she decided to do some early morning katas. Facing her invisible opponent, she bowed deeply as a sign of respect, and entered ready position. Her muscles shone through her t-shirt as she stood read, and poised for opponent to strike first. Suddenly she swept left and punched her invisible sparring partner. Left. Right. Sidestep. Punch. Block. These were the things that flashed through her head as she swiftly moved like water. She crouched down, jumped up, and kicked the air with a flying spinning kick that would have landed between the eyes or square in the chest. She dropped into a crouching position once again. She slowly stood up and bowed to invisible partner once again. Then Tara opened her suitcase and picked out her clothes and necessities for the day.

Makoto stood over a sizzling pan of her special bacon wearing a tight black shirt and a pair of camo pants. A thick black belt adorned her waist and she wore flat magenta sneakers on her feet. Tara walked into the kitchen wearing a boys red, silk Chinese shirt and black boys pants. On her feet she wore two Chinese style fighting slippers. Perfect outfit for an active person on the go. "Morning Mako-chan. I hear the restraint is closed all this week." Makoto simply nodded her head in response, keeping her eyes on her cooking. Then Makoto turned her head around for a brief moment and asked, " I hope you don't mind that a few girls from the group are coming for breakfast. I asked Shino-kun last night and he said it was ok with him. I just wanted to prepare you so you don't flip out like last time. You almost cause Ami-Chan a black eye. Good thing I saw it coming and blocked it. She forgave you but I don't want to see that again, 'kay T-Chan?" Tara looked sheepishly, recalling that memory. At the last moment, Makoto had jumped in front on Ami, grabbed her foot, and spun her off. She touched the floor with her hands and back-hand sprang onto her feet again. Her brown eyes searched the room for some sign of forgiveness. All she met were two pairs of crystalline shocked eyes, a pair of slightly frightened violet ones, two dark blue ones frozen with shock and fear, and last but not least, two green ones flashing maliciously. Shinosaki stood up and laughed and Makoto chewed them both out later. " I promise not to do anything wild. And I won't scare Chibi-Usa again this time." Makoto nodded and went back to her work.

Makoto and Tara had barely placed the food on the table when the doorbell rang. " Just a moment!," chimed Makoto as she placed down the bacon. She hurried over to the door as Tara ran into the kitchen to grab Makoto's Panda Mango Muffin Madness ( AN: this recipe is featured in my other unfinished story "The Hole." I also don't have rights to this recipe because it is my sisters but she won't mind that I used it... will she //*~_^*\\/^^<| :peace:). Makoto opened the door to find not her friends, but a note. Curious as to what it was. Makoto took it up and looked at it. It read this:

Hello again #449,
I can almost guarantee you remember me. Wondering where you friends are, ne? They are with me! If you ever want to see them again come to the empty hanger in the south part of town and board the plane. If you bring that document that you stole from me years ago, I will set them all free. Otherwise, you can see them die by my own hand, and then I will get you too! And I will get your husband and sister too! This is a promise and you know I NEVER break my promises...
Can't wait to see you,
Sapphire

Makoto shook slightly, the paper, the paper trembling in her fingers. The letter dropped from her hands as a tear silently fell from her eye. It had been so long since she was called by her agent name, it was almost foreign to her now. She retrieved the letter and crumpled it up into a tiny ball as fast as she could, her eyes filled with anguish. Slamming the door behind her she took off towards the bedroom. Tara looked at her weirdly as she wildly flashed by. Opening the door she found Shinosaki making the bed. Since Makoto usually woke up before and prepared breakfast, he made the bed. Makoto ran over to him and clung to him like her life depended on it. She sobbed heavily as he pat her back reassuringly, not even knowing why. "Mako-chan, what's wrong. C'mon honey, you can tell me." Makoto shakily handed Shinosaki the note. As he read, his face slowly drained of color and his expression became more forlorn towards the end. Shakily, Shinosaki embraced Makoto as she cried in his arms. " Shino-kun, I don't want to do this anymore. I have fought too much in my life," Makoto choked out. Shinosaki looked at her for a moment. " Mako-chan," he started, " you know you have to save them and they are probably depending on you. And about that document, I have an idea that will show Sapphire who is the real mastermind."

On the Plane, Usagi, Ami, Rei, and Minako were all bound and gagged on an airplane. They had all been on their way to Makoto's and Shinosaki's apartment when a couple of burly men stood in their path. Trying to move past them, men is dark blue suits came pouring out of seemingly no where, each holding a tranquilizer gun. Sensing immediate danger, they began to run as fast as they could towards Makoto's apartment. Too late, though, the tranquilizers were shot and the last thing they heard was a beautiful, yet icy voice say, "you know where you have to take them." Then everything went black.

"Shino-kun, are you almost done?," questioned Makoto who, too, was scurrying around. "Give me, like, five more minutes hon," Shinosaki answered while typing like mad on the computer. Makoto was searching through her closet for her old agent uniform. It was a slick black leather, three quarter sleeve shirt with a high Chinese style shirt. Going with it was a pair of black leather pants and black Chinese fighting shoes. The shoes had originally been black leather heels, but Makoto couldn't get into the feel of them, so the Chinese shoes were perfect. She had "borrowed" them from her Aunt Sakura a while back and she hadn't given them back yet. Slowly, Tara entered the room as to not disturb Shinosaki in his zone. " Mako-chan, you gonna be alright?," she spoke with a tiny voice. Makoto looked at her little sister and smiled warmly. "I've been alright after all these years. Why should that change now?" With renewed hope, Tara asked brightly," so can I come?" Makoto whipped around from putting her chain with her wedding ring into her shirt. " Are you crazy," she near shouted, " you could get yourself killed out there! You can't come and you must promise me you will stay with Shinosaki-kun in the apartment." Tara raised her right hand," buttercup scouts honor I won't go." Makoto smiled, nodded, and went back to work. Tara silently crept out of earshot before muttering," A: I'm not a buttercup scout and B: I didn't say where I wouldn't go, I just said I wouldn't go. Besides, I had my fingers crossed..."

At the hanger, Makoto stealthily crept along the walls, making sure not to be seen by the many thugs that walked the area. She didn't believe in guns so all she head was a can of pepper spray, her martial arts skills, and her knowledge as an agent. Turning around to see if anyone spotter her, she stepped back in surprise. Tara was standing there grinning like an idiot. Makoto just muttered something about telling her no to be useless and motioned for her to come along.

Creeping along the hanger walls, the pair snuck off towards the awaiting plane, Makoto clutching a paper tightly in her hand. It was an agreement made by Sapphire's and Makoto's bosses long ago. It was a childish thing made when they were friends that whatever Makoto's boss had, Sapphire's boss could take. It was signed when they were five and when Sapphire's boss showed it around one day, Makoto was ordered to retrieve it and keep it in safe keeping. Shinosaki had modified it so it was the other way round and cut out the signatures and put it on the new one so it was official.

Makoto had barley reached the plane door with Tara when she hesitated. "T-Chan I don't know if I can do this. You know I have a fear of planes and it makes me think of Mamma and Papa..." Tara looked at her with sympathy. "Mako-chan, you know I hate planes too, but we can't let our fears get in the way of saving our friends," Tara preached with determination. "Honto ni T-Chan, you should become a freedom speaker or something. Demo, Arigotou," joked Makoto about her silly joke. They silently laughed for a few seconds before braving the fears of the plane.

Inside, Sapphire walked in circles around the huddled, tied, and gagged group laughing maliciously. She strutted in a white three-quarter skirt and a blue thin strapped dress over that. On her feet she wore knee length dark blue leather boots. Her hair was halfway pulled up and holding it was a key hairpin. It was a large sapphire decorated with diamonds around it. " Once I have the document, my agency will rule. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! (think of Emerald)," she cackled ( now you can really think of Emerald) and plotted. Suddenly an arm came around her head and took her into a choke hold. " I don't think so. Over my dead body." Sapphire craned her head to look Makoto in the eyes. " That can be arranged," Sapphire growled as she jabbed her elbow into Makoto's gut, temporarily stunning her, Running in to the cockpit, she started up the plane and told one of her cronies to steer. Both Makoto and Tara stopped in their tracks. The same thought flashed through their minds 'this can't be happening!' Snapping up first, Makoto lunged towards Sapphire while Tara untied everyone. The document slipped out of Makoto's pocket in the midst of their wrestling. Sapphire grabbed it jumped out of harms way. Paper in hand, she cackled. By this time the plane in the air so she used this to her advantage. " So long #449. I am soo sorry that I had to destroy your company like this. Come Charles," and with that, they grabbed two parachutes and jumped. Suddenly Makoto had the sudden urge to vomit. 'who was driving the plane?' she thought frantically. As if reading her mind, Ami spoke up, " who's driving the plane now?" You could almost hear everyone's heart dropping into their stomachs. Then, Makoto stood up bravely, " I am," she said finally. Every looked at her crazy. When Makoto saw their skeptical looks, she announced, " when I was in training we were required to know how to operate all kinds of vehicles in case of an emergency, including planes." Everyone looked at Makoto admiringly as she bravely walked into the cockpit. In the passengers area the plane bumped, skipped, and slowly turned around. Looking out the window, you could see the runway coming into view. Slowly the plane fell out of the sky until it landed on the runway and sputtered to a stop. Makoto came out of the cockpit looking about ready to cry. All her friends (and Tara) embraced her into a sisterly hug. Soon, they disembarked from the plane and Makoto turned around and kicked it as hard as she could. After that she caught up with the rest of the group and began to talk with them again.

Sapphire ripped the paper she had recently read into hundreds of tiny pieces. She looked towards the sky, glaring maliciously. "I will get that document and my revenge soon #449," she swore to herself.

At the mall in Juban. "Shino-kun, baby, honey, sweetie pie?" Makoto chirped to get her husbands attention. He studied her for a while before asking, " how much will it cost?" The whole group laughed, it was Sunday and everyone was there. Makoto leaned over towards, "T-Chan," Makoto whispered, " that is how you get free jewelry." Tara laughed at this but said she would keep it in mind. While Makoto showed Shinosaki the emerald ring she fell in love with, the rest of the group just talked. " So what happened," asked Luna, holding onto Diana's hand to keep her from running away. " It was really scary," gushed Usagi, cradling baby Chibi-Usa in her arms while Mamoru kept his arm around her waist. " I don't ever want to go through that again!," exclaimed Minako. She was looking through a catalog at the same time looking for clothes for her next shoot. The rest of the group just nodded on understanding as the people who were on the plane explained everything in great detail. Just then Makoto walked out of Jackie's Jewelers looking happy while Shinosaki was checking to see of he was really broke. When they joined the group, the plane incident was still being discussed.

"Can we not talk about this guys. It's another mission I would like to try to forget," Makoto pleaded. The whole group nodded in understanding and all said "sure" at the same time. They all looked at each other and laughed while they resumed shopping.
